Bring it Home Chicago

After having your fill of al fresco brunch and basking on some of the prettiest rooftops in Chicago, what you really need is a nice and relaxing body of water to unwind and cool down in. If you cannot get enough of summer, the good news is that there are many indoor pools in Chicago that will make it feel like summer never ended.

Although there are many pools and public beaches that you can choose from, we particularly recommend these oases.

The Water Works

You can do a lot here. This is because The Water Works has three amazing water slides as well as varying pool depths for old children and adults to small babies, which is great. One of the best things is that kids of all ages will like the rapid water channel and water playground, while the older ones will thoroughly enjoy the dive.

And if you are teaching your little ones to swim, you will be pleased to know that The Water Works also features a few parent-toddler only lap lanes.

Lakeview Athletic Club

Did you know that the East Lakeview outpost of the famous Chicago Athletic Club is easily one of the best and shiniest gyms, featuring two pools? You can stay inside in order to swim full laps, or you may head upstairs to the pretty rooftop watering hole, which is fantastic.

Despite the view, some advanced swimmers may grow a little weary of the hardly twenty-yard size. However, note that nothing beats being outside exercising and having fun in the water during the summertime. After a swim, you can also head down to the clean locker rooms to get a shower. You will need a membership for access to the CACs; however, guests can buy a single-day pass for only $25.

Fuller Park

While Fuller Park might look like a private estate, note that its facilities are usually open to the public. This includes the pool, and you will find it next to the spacious and green baseball field. The park is great as it also boasts an interactive and fun water spray pool for your kids.

Cypress Cove

You will love Cypress Cove. Your kids can easily build a castle in the sand of the amazing Mud Bug Beach, or splash around and frolic on the nice play structure at Bullfrog Bayou. They can also ease into the brilliant zero-depth Cattail Bay at this cool Southwest suburban water park and pool.

On the other hand, older swimmers can easily grab a tube in order to shoot down the interactive Tabasco Falls, or simply tackle the 3 Pelican’s Plunge body slides. Did you know that Cypress Cove also boasts a lap pool as well as a lazy river?

Essex Inn

If you are looking for a swimming pool with breathtaking views of Grant Park and Lake Michigan, you should check out the Essex Inn. While the swimming pool is for guest-use only, note that it’s certainly worth a winter-break stay. Note that an all-season, steel, and glass structure encloses a huge sixty-foot lap and splash pool that also has a lifeguard on duty.

The swimming pool is on the smaller side with no lane dividers, but the several international flags above the water will definitely make you feel like a seasoned Olympian. However, one of the real assets of this pool is the amazing garden terrace that overlooks Michigan Avenue. There is sufficient room to spread out and also sun with your pals, but there is enough foliage to make you feel like you have some real privacy.

DoubleTree Magmile

The great thing about DoubleTree by Hilton Magnificent Mile is that it comes with an excellent location right in the heart of Chicago. It is only a short walk from the famous Magnificent Mile, Chicago’s top shopping street. So, after a sticky and hot day, you can simply put down all your shopping bags and then cool off in this hotel’s beautiful and newly remodeled Chicago rooftop pool.

Refreshing and spacious, this nice rooftop pool is also surrounded by many skyscrapers. As a result, you will get the feeling that you are swimming right in (or right above) this bustling city. Equipped with umbrellas and comfy sun loungers, this rooftop pool is a fantastic location to mix the city vibe along with relaxing and long hours under the Chicago sun.

Radisson Blu Aqua

Did you know that the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel has a beautiful and manicured lifestyle garden within its expansive premises? Note that this spot is an excellent pool party hub. You will find an indoor as well as an outdoor pool. And each pool has its own hot tub as well as a 3-foot wading pool for children. And that is not all; there are 4 usable gas grills, modern cabanas, a fire pit, and a winding fitness track.
